YOUR EDITOR GETS HIS
MODEL A
ON THE ROAD AGAIN!
or
THE PHOENIX BIRD RISES
AGAIN
After many years, it was
an absolute thrill to get my
Model A on the road.  Except
for a few short trips around
my area, to get the "bugs"
out, I finally drove it some
distance, to the Tech Day at
Santa Fe Springs, on Sunday
the 30th of April.  It was a
very exciting experience.  The
"A" ran great! of course I have
a lot to do yet, but to experi-
ence the excitement, joy &
pride I felt, was worth all the
frustration & work of bring-
ing the car "back from the
dead"

The Model A is fun to
drive, but it sure makes you
appreciate power steering,
air conditioning and all the
other luxuries we have in our
"modern iron".

There are so many people I
have to thank for helping and
encouraging me in my
restoration process.  I know
I'll leave soneone out, but I
must thant all of those I can
think of. A big thank you to:
Jake Thomas, Wayne
Switzer, Richard Flores,
Norm Pickell, Bill Van Lowen
B.J. Wellington, Terry Kestler,
Cal Chesbrough, Bud Bartlett,
Steve Morris, Walt Dresler, Bob Bitters, "Bondo" Bud Swanson, Ron
Smith, and to all of the members of Diamond Tread for their
encouragement and friendship.

I must also thank JoAnn for her patience, encouragement,
help and interest on this Model A adventure! I am truly a
wealthy Man!

I look forward to hooking up the lights, getting the interior
upholstered and a hundred & One other little things done on the
A, but to also continue my association with Diamond Tread and
to drive "Phoenix Bird".  Also I would like to write about the his-
tory of my "A", and how I came to be introduced to Diamond
Tread.  I think it would make for interesting reading, but this
will do for now.

Oh by the way, the Tech Day was great!
